Telephone Magneto Wall, Bridging Type (Hunningscone)This
is a British built Western Electric Twin Box Wall Telephone
telephone, introduced around 1890.
This type appears to have been popular in New South Wales because of its long distance capabilities, note the large battery compartment.
This instrument uses the Hunningscone Transmitter, which while it was revolutionary for it's day, had the unfortunate habit of losing it's viability because of 'packing' of the transmitter.
