Magneto Telephones for Mines
Case, cast iron
Micro-telephone RE9210, with Waterproof Cord RS6100, protected by a Flexible Metal Tube, 5 Magnet Generator, and 2000 ohm Bell.
The instrument is divided into three portions. When the door of the case is unlatched and opened, the Micro-telephone on the Switch-hook, with its Flexible Cord and the Generator Crank, are all that is exposed to view. A side compartment contains the two Cells. The rear compartment, which is air and watertight, contains the remaining parts of the instrument. Incoming wires are led in to the terminals through two holes on the top of the Telephone, these holes being so formed that they may be hermetically sealed.
Specially suitable for use in mines where it may be feared that sparks from the Generator can cause explosion.
