This instrument is similar to No. 390 but of lighter construction, and fitted in a leather case with strong leather strap for carrying over the shoulder.

It is fitted with a special hand micro-telephone No. 496, collapsible like a telescope, with cord No. 2159, 2 magnet generator, 500 ohm bell, two line terminals, and a dry cell No. 602. This instrument is specially suitable for inspectors of telephone and telegraph lines.
