COMBINED TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH INSTRUMENT No. 394
This instrument is specially constructed for cavalry scouts, and is fitted
with a telescopic hand micro-telephone No. 496 with cord No. 2159, buzzer, a condenser for
the line, and a dry battery No. 602 (two Cells).
The instrument is very small and light, and therefore most suitable for military purposes.
It has been largely used during the South African War, and was found very useful and
highly efficient.
