Wall mounted version of the GPO Telephone No.
706. The telephone has a plastic base, with components hardwired.
The handset is supported by a cradle and the dial inverted.
The GPO version, known as the GPO
Tele 1/706L, was supplied with a director dial and available in all the seven standard
colours.
This model was introduced in 1959.
The telephone was supplied worldwide in different
variants.
