The NTX 6, made by Siemens was distributed in the UK by Norton Telecom. This version was a
4+6 system which supported LD & MF exchange lines plus keysets as standard. Call
logging and POTS could be accommodated by installing a daughter board onto the motherboard
(but only one at any one time). The NTX 8 superseded the NTX 6 early on and this was an
4+8 system with the same facilities. The MDF was integral within the wall mounted metal
cabinet. Programming was by means of the first extn port and an LED display which showed
through a small window on the front of the case.
Only keysets 1 (8 configurable buttons) and 2 (16 configurable buttons) could be used on
either of these systems. The first extension port also terminated on an Australian socket
that was fixed behind the bottom edge of the chassis.
