Originally called the "Telephone, G.B. incomplete, House for
S.R. it was later renamed as the Telephone No. 27.
Telephones in Pairs
These instruments were for use in lieu of a speaking
tube between two rooms only. For this
service in Post Offices a stock of Telephones, G.B.,
Incomplete, House, for Single Receiver (in conjunction
with two Receivers, Bell
(Telephone No. 27); two "Bells,
Trembler, House, 2.5''; and one
Battery, 2-cell Leclanche, No. 1, C.Z.), is
available, and should be joined up on the
principle shown in the diagram below.
