BT 2+8


RINGER ON / OFF

OPERATOR MODE
Extension 20's ringer is always ON and cannot be turned off.
All other extension ringers are automatically programmed off.

ANYONE CAN ANSWER MODE
Extension 20 ringer is always ON for line 1.
Extension 21 ringer is always ON for line 2.

All other extensions ringers can be programmed ON or OFF.

Extension 20 ringer is always ON for line 1.

All other extensions, except 21, are ON for incoming calls on line 1, but can be individually turned OFF. Extension 21 ringer is always ON for line 2 and cannot be turned OFF. No other extension rings for line 2 unless extension 21 diverts its calls.

TO TURN OFF THE RINGER

Note:- The ringers can be turned on for individual lines only if they have been programmed OFF for both lines first.

TO TURN OFF THE RINGER FOR BOTH LINES
1. Lift the handset and key 66, (ringer off key on Systemphone).
2. When you hear confirmation tone, replace handset.

TO TURN ON THE RINGER
To turn on the ringer selectively.

1. lift handset and key 61 for line 1, 62 for line 2.
2. When you hear the confirmation tone replace handset.

TO TURN ON THE RINGER FOR BOTH LINES
1. Lift the handset and key 69.
2. When you hear the confirmation tone replace the handset.

EXCHANGE LINE ACCESS

SYSTEMPHONE
Press line key, or key 41 (line 1), 42 (line 2) or key 9 on the enhanced version of the BT2+8.

STANDARD TELEPHONES
Press RECALL, or key 41 (line 1), 42 (line 2) or key 9 on the enhanced version of the BT2+8.

Using 9, 41, or 42 requires a free intercom path, therefore if you receive busy when you lift the receiver, you should use the RECALL (on tele) or LINE KEY (on Systemphone) method.

TRANSFER
If on an external call;

1 . Press RECALL once (or the extension key on Systemphones).

2. When you hear internal dial tone key the extension number. (If you are on a Systemphone this stage was completed in 1.)

3. Either hang up to transfer on ringing, or wait to announce the call then hang up. If the extension is engaged press RECALL (line key on Systemphone) to return to the caller. If transfer on ringing is not answered the call will revert to you after 30 seconds, if you are free. If you are busy it is presented as a new incoming exchange call.

On a Systemphone, if both intercom paths are busy you can still transfer on ringing.

TRANSFER ON RINGING
1. Press required extension key.
2. Press TRANSFER.
3. Hang up.

HOLD OR PARK
1. Press RECALL (HOLD on Systemphone).
2. Key 5.
3. On confirmation tone replace handset.

RETRIEVE HELD OR PARKED CALL
1. Lift handset.
2. Key 5.

If the held call is not retrieved within 3 minutes the call will ring back on your extension. If you are engaged or there is no reply within 30 seconds, the call is represented as an incoming call.

DIVERT
You can use divert to divert ALL your calls.

1. Lift handset and key 70 (Divert on Systemphone).
2. Key the extension number to which you wish to divert your calls.
3. After confirmation tone replace your handset.

While on divert you will receive special dial tone.

1. Lift handset and key 77 (divert if Systemphone).
2. Confirmation tone and hang up.

NIGHT SERVICE
NOT available in exclusive line mode.
ONLY accessible from extension 20.

ALL telephones will ring regardless of line programming.

TO ACTIVATE:- FROM EXTN 20 ONLY
1. Lift handset and key 10.
2. Confirmation tone and hang up.

TO CANCEL:- FROM EXTN 20 ONLY
1. Lift handset and key 11.
2. Confirmation tone and hang up.

HOST SYSTEM PBX RECALL
If piggybacked on a host PBX line and you need to make an enquiry call to a host PBX extension;

Press RECALL on Systemphone, wait for host PBX dial tone then dial number.

HOST PBX RECALL USING A TELEPHONE MK1.
Press RECALL twice within one second to obtain host PBX dial tone.

USING A TELEPHONE MK2.
Press RECALL then key 7.

When PBX dial tone beard, dial extension number.

To return to original call press RECALL (Systemphone) or 7 (standard telephone).

NETWORK SERVICES FROM BT2+8 EXTENSION
To send a recall signal to the exchange the BT2+8 CCU must be set for Timed Break Recall (95mS).

Where Network Services require you to send a recall signal follow procedure outlined in Host PBX Recall.

BT 2+8 SYSTEMPHONE

Mk1 and Mk2 versions available- Mk2 has improved RFI immunity and improved handsfree performance.

The 2+8 Systemphone provides the following facilities:
Ringer volume control.
Loud speaking volume control.
Secrecy (hold down to mute the microphone.) Recall.
Hold.
Transfer by extension key.
Memory recall (to access the 10 number store.)
Int busy (lights when both intercom ccts are busy.)
Extension keys (designated keys 20 - 27.)
Mem store (used to store 10 frequently used numbers.)
Speak (enables speech with other Systemphones, handsfree.)
Pause.
Ringer on/off.
Divert.
Line 1, Line 2.
Loudspeak (operates handsfree facility.)

STORING 10 MEMORY STORE. (Lost during mains fail)
1. Lift handset and press MEM STORE.
2. Key store code 0-9.
3. Key telephone number to be stored.
4. Replace handset.

Note:- If an access code and pause is required by a host PBX, press the pause between the access code and the telephone number.

USING MEMORY
1. Lift handset and press a line key.
2. Press MEM REC.
3. Key 0-9 for the telephone number store required.
4. If a pause was programmed dialling will stop at the pause.
5. Press MEM REC to continue telephone number.
