BATTERY RINGING  TELEPHONE
RAILWAY TYPE
WALL PATTERN

No. 40305
Produced for Railway work, this Battery Ringing Telephone is preferred by a large number of people.

After long and careful study, the above set was designed and will be found to be efficient, strong, and simple in construction. A large number of this type of telephone have been installed by two of the large Railway Companies in the United Kingdom and are rendering highly efficient service.

The framework is of Walnut and can be fitted with the "Delville" Transmitter, the Solid-back Transmitter on a plate or bracket, or the Transmitter mounted inside the set.

A "Watch" or "Bell" pattern Receivers can be fitted.

The principal points regarding the actual construction of the set are:-

  1. All wiring is run in such a manner that it can be easily traced, at the same time it is not unduly exposed.
  2. All terminals are large and can be screwed and unscrewed without the aid of tools.
  3. The switch-hook is of our usual type, i.e., it is easily removable for transit, is fixed in position by merely pushing it in place, and it cannot be removed once it is in place, without opening the set.  The switch itself is self-contained and can be removed from the set by unscrewing, so that if the switch is damaged, it can be removed and replaced by a new one, cheaply and quickly, even by one not familiar with telephone work.
  4. The Induction Coil has no wires brought out for terminals, so it is not liable to broken connections. The four screws which hold the coil in place also make the necessary connections, and the coil cannot be connected with the primary and secondary coil reversed.
  5. All connections are made by means of wires, not through the hinges.
