CABINET, SECONDARY CELL, D63201

Cabinet, Secondary Cell, D 63201

For small installations this cabinet should be used. It  will house a "Rectifier No. 38A or 38B" and a 10Ah. or 20Ah. battery, together with a "Hydrometer No. 10", "Thermometer No. 3", "Measure, Earthenware, 1 pint", the main battery fuse, and the necessary preventive stores. Before the rectifier is fitted into the cabinet, the cover of the rectifier should be removed, but the serial number plate should be recovered and fitted near the rectifier, inside the cabinet. The rectifier cover should be disposed of locally. As the equipment is totally-enclosed the cabinet is particularly suitable where the power plant must be accommodated in the switch-room or other occupied room, or a public passage. The overall size of the cabinet is 4ft. 5in. high x 3ft. 2in. wide x 11in. deep. The handles of the cabinet are packed separately and should be fitted locally.

These cabinets were normally used with Switchboards AT3796, Sections, Switch, PMBX No. 1A and Sections, Switch, B.E. CB, Multiple No. 9 where an A.C. mains supply was available.

The battery consisted of 12 cells which on installations under 125Ah. would be "Cells, Secondary, Enclosed" and over 125Ah. were "Cells, Secondary, Stationary".
