ELECTRICAL CLOCKS - IMPULSE TYPE
Clock No. 4A
1. Description
Clock No.
4A, which supersedes Clock No. 4, is a 12 inch, wall-type clock for general purposes. It is fitted with a movement as described in B1311 and is operated by
half-minute impulses (Class A). It has an octagonal moulded synthetic-resin case, and the general appearance is shown
to the right. The oases are constructed on substantial lines, but synthetic-resin mouldings have naturally less resistance to shock than the more conventional wooden cases; care should therefore be exercised in handling them.
2. Earlier models of Clocks No. 4A are fitted with circular wooden cases, mahogany
finished. The circular type clocks will continue to be supplied as long as they are available.
3. Replacement
In the event of breakage of the case, the complete clock should be exchanged under the maintenance-exchange procedure.
This clock was originally provided at manual exchanges
with from 3 to 10 positions ultimately.
Overall diameter - 18in.
Overall width - 16.75in.
Diameter of dial - 12in.
Depth (back to front) - 3.75in.
Diagram - GMT14.
This clock was superseded by Clock No. 64A
