New CSL Range of telephones for business and domestic use

Use with PBX or direct connection, selectors for choice of carriers

Siemens GEC Communication Systems Limited has launched the UK's most price competitive range of highly featured standalone telephones. The CSL range has been manufactured exclusively for Siemens following extensive market research of both business and domestic user requirements. The new telephones can be used with any private branch exchange and include a version with unique selectors that allows users to enjoy future-proof, single key access to two additional network providers.

The company's Partner Channel will supply the telephones via its accredited distributor/ partner network for onward distribution to retailers, end users and other dealers. The CSL range will then be targeted at both business and domestic users. Siemens will also sell the new telephones to large PBX customers through its direct salesforce to ensure maximum penetration of all market sectors.

The CSL 1000, 1000 Plus, 1000 MW, 2000 and 3000 offer an increasing list of sophisticated features which fully complement each other. This means that people can instantly change telephones without losing the feel and familiarity of their old handsets.

All five telephones are fully compatible with the range of Siemens GEC Communication Systems Limited's telephone systems. They each feature variable volume and pitch control, mixed-mode dialling, a Braille dot on the number 5 key, an inductive coupler for the hard-of-hearing, and a last number redial facility of at least 21 digits. Each handset also has a press and hold mute facility and requires no additional bracket for wall mounting.

The CSL 1000, available now, is the entry-level telephone and provides all these features as standard along with ten abbreviated number stores. The CSL 1000 Plus adds a visual call indication lamp, mute button and handset volume control in addition to three repertory keys and access to additional carriers. Next in the range is the CSL 1000 MW which can interface with the host PBX (iSDX/ Realitis) to flash a message waiting lamp. The CSL 2000, target availability June 1997, offers twenty repertory keys, on-hook dialling, save number dialled, and an optional headset and programmable pause.

The top-of-the-range CSL 3000, also targeted for availability in June 1997, has full loudspeech and a timer key to display call duration. A display shows time and date as well as number dialled and an optional clock. The CSL 3000 also offers automatic redial and can be used to set an alarm with a 24-hour repeat facility. Both the CSL 2000 and CSL 3000 also have a message waiting lamp for use behind iSDX and Realitis PBXs.
