TYPEWRITER, TELEGRAPH


These are Typewriters used in Telegraph offices. The keyboard layout is to Diagram TG 641.  These are standard typewriters that are modified for use in telegraph offices.

When used in training schools for touch typing practice a "Cover, Practising, for Typewriters, Telegraph No. 2" could be obtained, to cover the keyboard.

Used for copying work in telegraph instrument rooms and in the Radio Service section at the C.T.O.
 

No. 2
Underwood portable.
Fitted with 2 space-bars


No. 3B
Fitted with 2 space bars.
 

No. 6
Royal portable.
Has 2 space-bars for phonogram and telephone-telegram working.
No. 6A - Without roll feed.
No. 6B - With roll feed.

Includes:-
1 x Roll-holder No.4.

Superseded by No. 8A.
 

No. 7B
Imperial portable.
Fitted with a roll feed attachment and is fitted with 2 space-bars. For phonogram and telephone-telegram working and for training purposes.

To be requisitioned separately as required:-
1 x Roll-holder No. 5A.

Superseded by No. 8A.
 

No. 8A and 8B
Corona silent portable.
This is fitted with paper roll carrier and 2 space-bars. For phonogram and telephone-telegram working.

Supersedes Nos. 6 and 7.

No. 8A, Complete - Includes Base, Typewriter, Telegraph No. 8A.

The No. 8A was intended for use in offices where Teleprinters No. 3 are used and the No. 8B in offices were the Teleprinter No. 11 is used.

No. 9A and 9B
Imperial, non-portable.
For copying work in telegraph instrument rooms.

The No. 9A was intended for use in offices where Teleprinters No. 3 are used and the No. 9B in offices were the Teleprinter No. 11 is used.

Includes dust cover.
