TELEPHONE - WALL
Ships' telephone for 5 lines

DGT 2001 (replaced the HD 200)
In recent years the use of telephones on board ships has steadily increased for the giving of orders, communication between the various parts of the ship etc. and we offer a special series of telephones and accessories for these purposes. The telephones are waterproof with tight cable inlets and the wiring system must also be waterproof. Rubber insulated cables with conductors of large cross section should be used for the wiring so as to limit the line resistance as much as possible. Three conductors are required in the cable to a telephone and one additional conductor for each telephone to be called from it. All connections should be made in waterproof junction boxes. The system requires a 12 V battery.

The microtelephone and the extra receiver are of loudspeaking type and provided with leather pads to shut out external noise. The telephone is water proof and designed for mounting in comparatively exposed places. In very exposed places, for instance on the forecastle, the telephone should be enclosed in a protective case HD 1000. A waterproof DC bell RA 1200/12 should be connected to the telephone. When the bell rings the switch is set in the position A, after which a conversation can be carried on. When calling the switch is set to the desired number and a signal is emitted by means of the signalling key.
