PRIVATE AUTOMATIC EXCHANGES A unit of maximum capacity 50 lines, equipped initially for any desired number up to this total. The switching equipment is mounted on a steel frame, enclosed in a floor-pattern cabinet of polished hardwood. The glass-panelled front of the cabinet is hinged and provided with a lock. A lift-out panel at the rear gives access to the wiring. Each telephone is connected to the unit by means of a twin conductor. Alternatively, use can be made of the loud-speaking telephone or S-10 set. Power Plant D.C. Mains supply up to 250 volts: two suitable 26 volt batteries are provided, together with a charging panel fitted with the necessary instruments, switches and fuses to enable one battery to be charged through a resistance while the other is supplying the unit. A ringing vibrator included in the unit converts battery
current to A.C. for ringing bells in the instruments. 26 Volt Rotary System (AC Ringing)
