In Cast-iron Box with Adjustable Steel Bands to fit practically any sire of pole. The interior is fitted with a Hand Microtelephone, comprising Central Battery Type Granular Carbon Transmitter, Double-pole 'Ring' Receiver, Fluted Ebonite Handle, and Waterproof Flexible Connecting Cord, Induction Coil and Condenser.

A Drop Shutter Indicator is fitted for closing the circuit of a local battery bell when a call is received from the Central Station. Terminals are provided for connecting up the local bell, which is generally fixed on the same pole above the telephone.

A Two-way Switch is also provided for cutting out the bell at night time, or when the attendant is off duty. The whole of the apparatus is specially insulated to resist dampness, and all parts are readily accessible for examination or repairs.
