KIOSK No. 6
| ||||||||
Some Kiosk No.6's have had their rear panels replaced at sometime. In this case the original backboard was discarded. They can be identified as they have no manufacturers marking at all on the bottom of the rear panel and inside the kiosk the backboard is made of sheet steel. The cable entry holes are covered with a circular plate if not in use. The rear panel was removed and a replacement steel panel offered up and fixed to the kiosk, on each edge, by brackets which act as clamps. The original panel fixing holes were not used. Two metal stand-offs were fixed to the new panel and these were covered by a steel cover which was fixed by means of screws, on both side edges, the top edge and on the bottom front. The fixings for the front cover will probably be security screws. This steel cover has holes stamped in it that line up
with threaded inserts in the stand-offs. The coinbox equipment and
shelf are then fixed by bolting them into the threaded inserts.
