LANDIS & GYR - PEGASUS PAYPHONE

Pegasus Payphones - Pegasus Desktop Payphone

In its basic form, the Pegasus Payphone provides simplicity, for the point of view of the owner, and the user. Physical installation, programming and tariff control are all straightforward. As the name suggests, the Pegasus Desktop Payphone can be positioned on a desk, tabletop or shelf, or screwed directly to a wall, without the need for additional mounting brackets, and in such a way as to prevent tampering with the telephone socket. Configuration of the Pegasus Desktop Payphone is simple; the phone is fully PBX, Private Branch Exchange, compatible, and so can be connected directly to a telephone line, or via a switchboard. An owner mode allows telephone calls to be made without payment if a PIN is supplied. It is also possible to configure the phone for alternate carrier routing.

The Pegasus Desktop Payphone operates on a - pay on answer - basis, and takes 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 coins – the cash box capacity is 300 coins – along with credit and debit cards, with refund capability for unused, or invalid, coins. Call charges can be adjusted and reverse charge calls can be detected, and prevented. Three direct dial memory buttons – including a dedicated taxi button – are included, together with a complete audit record. The LCD display is large and easy to read, and users can make follow on calls via a key on the keypad.

Pegasus Payphones - Pegasus Armoured Payphone

The Pegasus Armoured Payphone, on the other hand, is a heavy duty, armour plated version and is therefore more suitable for use in partially supervised, or unsupervised, areas. Security steel casing and an armoured handset cord protect the phone, cashbox and telephone socket from tampering or vandalism. The Pegasus Armoured Payphone is similarly PBX compatible, with automatic alternative network routing, if necessary. Support for Multi Frequency tone dialling and Loop Disconnect pulse dialling is included, for flexibility in terms of installation.

Like the Pegasus Desktop Payphone, the Armoured version accepts all the popular British coin denominations, again up to a maximum of 300 coins, and credit or debit cards are also accepted. Call barring – to premium rate, or international, numbers, for example – can be implemented easily, but the owner of the phone can also make other useful services – taxi services, in particular, but also any other services applicable to typical phone users – available via 3 direct dial memory buttons. There is also a follow on call button for users who wish to make two, or more, calls to different numbers during a phone session.

Other features of the Pegasus Armoured Payphone include automatic time adjustment to BST, or GMT, 36 exception code entries and a battery life of over 2 years under normal circumstances.
