Langham Exchange area was chosen to be the field trial site for the new
Multi Frequency telephone (Tone dialling), the Telephone
No. 728. The pictures below are of the exchange equipment which
was used to convert the MF tones into dial pluses, which was the only signalling
the UK exchanges were made for at that time.
The MF register equipment is in the centre
