POLE TIMBER GRAB, HAND
Application
The device is used to lift and transport poles for short distances without
contamination of hands and protective clothing with free creosote on the surface
of poles.
General description This item consists of a scissor hook
supported on a straight wooden handle. The effective opening of the hooks is
9in. to 9.5in. and a safe working load of 4.5cwt. may be carried.
Capital cost
£4.
Remarks
One grab is used at each end of a pole and where necessary, in the centre also.
Each grab is lifted by two men. When a pole is being lifted from a pole stack it
must first be freed from its neighbours by a crowbar before the tool can be
placed into position.
