BATTERIES & CELLS - PRIMARY - Includes Leclanché cells
BATTERIES - SECONDARY
DRY CELLS - Used on L.B. Telephones and extension planes (1958)

Wall telephones with internal provision to hold batteries and table telephones where the batteries were in a cupboard or other safe environment were fitted with wet cells.  Where there was a danger of the battery box toppling over, dry cells would be fitted.

Batteries are a group of cells and a high energy source.  Because of this they are always secured, either in the telephone or in a Battery box, called "Boxes, Battery".  Click here for Boxes, Battery.
