NATIONAL TELEPHONE COMPANY
B46 & B47

Battery Wall Sets

Pattern No. B46 & B47

Both comprise - Hand Combination Transmitter and Receiver, Cord, Induction Coil, Bell and Push Button, but whereas No. B46 has an Automatic Switch, No. B47 has a fixed Cradle with a Double Contact Key in the handle of the Hand Combination.

These are types of the same class of instrument and are largely employed where a fixed form of transmitter would be inconvenient.  An invalid for instance can use either or these sets while lying in bed.

While both instruments are decorative, Pattern No. B47 is perhaps the more ornate and less likely to harbour dust; further, the Hand Micro-Telephone, when not in use, being on a cradle, the possibility of the former being knocked against the wall is avoided.

Taken from the 1903 Catalogue.
