BATTERY RINGING

Comprises - Granular Carbon Transmitter, Powerful Receiver and Listening Tube, Induction Coil and Connecting Terminals.

The whole of the parts are fitted in a cast iron waterproof case, provided with stuffing glands, through which the line wires pass to the interior.

This pattern is also suitable for use on ships.

Note the sign around the transmitter advising to rotate it occasionally.  This is to agitate the carbon granules, thus ensuring that no packing occrs.
