Connecting the Extension sockets to the control unit
Looking at the control unit with the edge of the casing under the connectors connect the external wiring to the sockets in the following manner:-

Wire colour Connector slot
Blue / White stripe Top
White / Blue stripe Middle
Orange / White stripe Bottom

Testing System
Do not plug your Omnicom into the mains power socket or the telephone line jack socket until all installation work is completed.

Connect extension telephones to each of the sockets. Plug the Omnicom Master Control Unit into the exchange socket and lift the handset connected to extension 20. You should be able to hear dial tone from your local exchange.

If you do not hear dial tone, check that extension 20 has been wired correctly at both the socket and the control unit, and that the cabling is not damaged.

Plug the Omnicom Master Control Unit into your mains power supply and turn it on. The yellow "power" indicator light on your Omnicom will come on. Check each of the Omnicom extension telephones in turn. When you lift each handset, the message
"Beep, beep, set the time please" should be heard, and the red extension indicator light should show steadily. If this is not the case for any particular extension, check that the extension has been wired correctly at both the socket and the Omnicom Master Control Unit, and that the cabling is not damaged.

To set the time after switching on dial 73 at the prompt dial XX YY (where XX is the hour and YY are the minutes in 24 hour format).

Memory loss after power outage
This is generally caused by a RAM battery failure.

Solution:-
Replace RAM battery.
The battery is a 3.6v ni-cd. These are available from CPC (Part number BT00181).  It is suggested that the original battery be replaced with two long leads which are then connected to the ni-cd cell.  This will allow for easy replacement in future as it is can now be externally mounted.
