SIEMENS BROTHERS No. 69


Steel cased wall telephone with dial.

Provision was made for a watch receiver to be fitted.

A number of these phones were supplied to the South African Post Office.  Originally provided with the Siemens Brother Dial, Switch No. 1 (BPO Dial, Automatic No. 3 - see picture to the right), this would have been replaced depending on the type of exchange the phone was connected to.

This telephone changed circuitry a number of times over the years and this can be seen by the diagrams shown below.

One diagram has a transformer installed to assist with side tone.  There was a similar arrangement with the GPO Telephone No. 162.
