SIEMENS BROTHERS No. 376


AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE

A table telephone, in black moulded Bakelite case, comprising anti-sidetone induction coil (ASTIC), high efficiency 'Neophone' hand micro-telephone with patented immersed electrode inset transmitter on automatic switch cradle; 1000ohms bell ringer and a standard British Post Office pattern dial.   This telephone is used on Automatic systems or could be supplied with no dial for CB systems.

This model was used switchboards and is fitted with a press button switch which was used to recall the local operator whilst on a call.

Converting a Siemens Brothers No. 376 to UK Plug and Socket

  1. Discard any old cordage or wires that are connected to terminals 1, 2, 3 and 9.
  2. Remove link between terminals 10 and 11.
  3. Ensure terminals 11 and 12 are linked.
  4. Connect a 3.3k resistor to terminals 1 and 2.
  5. White wire of the new line cord to terminal 1.
  6. Red wire of the new line cord to terminal 9.
  7. Blue wire of the new line cord to terminal 11.
  8. Green wire of the line cord to terminal 3.
  9. Connect a Rectifier Element No. 205 or similar to terminals 5 and 6.
