TELEPHONE No. 29


This is a wall mounted house telephone with handset, press button switch, four terminals and trembler bell (DC), all mounted on a wooden base.

Originally called the "Telephone, House, Wall, 3-Terminal" it was renamed later as the Telephone No. 29.  The three terminals can be seen at the top of mounting, just above the calling button.

Fitted in pairs and used in lieu of a speaking tube between two rooms only.

In addition to the telephones, three 1.5v dry batteries and a "Coil Inductor, 3 terminal" are provided.

A Telephone No. 30 is used as the handset.  The handset has a press button fitted which must be operated in order to power the transmitter when talking.

Found in the 1915 GPO rate Book.

Made obsolete in 1937.
