Wooden cased, wall telephone, with magneto bell and generator for
use on Magneto systems.Formally called the "Telephones, Wall, with Magneto Bell and Generator (Glasgow and Brighton), Modified". From 1912 it was called the Telephone No. 49. The telephone requires two Cells, 2 Block Agglomerate, Complete, which are housed in the lower part of the telephones body. Probably ex NTC as the same switch hook types were used on most NTC telephones. Telephone included (1912 and 1915):- The Telephone No. 49A was specially stocked for Coastguard circuits requiring powerful generators.
