TELEPHONE No. 90


A wooden cased, local battery (LB) set similar to Telephone No. 88 but without the hand generator.  The case houses a magneto bell.

The telephone was originally an National Telephone Company "Telephone, Table No. 1 or 13".  When the NTC apparatus was subsumed into the GPO these telephones were renamed as "Instrument, Subscriber, N.T. No. 1 and 13" modified to GPO Diagram CBS232.  When the GPO moved to a numbered scheme for telephones they were renamed as the Telephone No. 90.

This model was used on C.B.S. circuits.

They were known as 'Corporation Sets' as they were shaped like many similar phones supplied to the large municipalities of the day.

Fitted with Telephone No. 28 as the handset.
