TELEPHONE No. 140


A metal handset, with press switch and loop suspension.  It is fitted with two plugs, a Plug No. 310 and a Coil and Plug No. 1.

Introduced circa 1925, it was a test telephone originally used on Siemens No. 16 Automatic exchanges.

The Telephone No. 140A is used when a Siemens No. 16 exchange is fitted with Jacks, Test, No 7 & 9.  It is fitted with Plug, No. 411.

It is of a similar design to the Telephone No. 80.
