TESTER No. 176A


The Tester No. 176A is used in the Pair Identification Equipment No. 1 along with an Indicator Unit No. 1A.

Tester No. 176A gives a digital indication at the remote end of a cable, of the terminating position at the exchange of any pair in the cable. Voltage pulses received over a control pair cause a mechanical counter to operate. An illuminated display is also operated from the mechanical counter.

First use was circa 1970.
