A most unusual purchase for the GPO was a pair of Dennis Pax V 7 ton capacity trucks for use in the Stores Department. Very few Dennis vehicles entered service with the GPO and it can be assume that this pair were either on trial, or were purchased in place of Morris vehicles which were unavailable at the time. Interestingly many Dennis vehicles of this era featured Morris or Austin engines, so the mechanics would at least be familiar with parts of the vehicle.
