JLE 695 was the first TV Detector Vehicle and was fitted with a wooden frame on the roof.  To this frame was fitted three loop aerials.  The loops aerials were called Aerials No. 11A and are connected to a radio receiver via a selection switch.  The Receiver was capable of tuning to 20.25kc/s, with an audio output to headphones.

The ignition also required interference suppression, with suppressors fitted to all plug, the bonnet bonded to the main body with copper braid and the ignition coil located in a screening box.

This vehicle was first in use in 1952.
