General description and facilities
This vehicle has a forward control cab which, in addition to seats for a
driver and one passenger, has an extra seat for occasional use by a third
man. Double rear doors provide access to the separate box body which
has a translucent roof and is fitted with aluminium racks and cupboards for
tools and stores. Compartments are provided for the accommodation of
generator, pump, Rods, Duct and propane gas cylinders. A Ladder,
Extension No. 1 can be stored on a shelf over the nearside racking.
Two positions are provided at the forward end of the body for trolleys
holding Cylinders, Air. A tool board is fitted and adjacent to it is a
screened off area for the use of a low pressure boiling ring which may only
be used if there are no flammable materials in the body and if only aids
driven by propane gas are carried.
A switch in the cab operates all four direction indicators simultaneously,
to provide a hazard warning when positioning the vehicle at a work site
before the permanent warning signs are laid out. It is not for
prolonged or continuous use.
Some early models are fitted for duct rodding. These should be
modified as outlined in TDB Branch memo. 7/68.
