It's the age of space flight and Dan Dare. UK telephone suppliers were
looking to the future and the future was video phones in the late 1960's. But video was a Cathode Ray Tube and the telephone system was not designed to send any sort of signal at a great speed. Here are pictures from 1969 showing the initial size of the desk units and associated equipment. The control equipment has a Loudspeaking Telephone No. 4 associated.
