VOICE JACK UNIT (VJU) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Voice Jack Unit (VJU) supercedes the old Line Jack Units. The LUJ's were prone to circuit board issues and the VJU is designed with with encapsulated metal strips instead of a circuit board. The VJU also has preformed cable management channels within the unit to assist with cable presentation to the IDC connectors. There is no need to use cable ties. The pictures below show how the cabling is managed.
As this product is modulised in most instances two components parts will have to be used to make a VJU. The tables below advise of the components required to make an equivalent VJU. The modules are just pushed into place on the rear of the VJU housing. Terminations are also slightly different as the IDC terminals are straight instead of angled. Wires are pushed through the terminal "eye" and the terminal pushed home to make the connection. Because of these new terminals an Inserter Wire No. 2 must be used. LJU No's 5/1A and 4/3A are not available but these can be made by using a
VJU 4/3A and jumpering the two sockets together. Conversion table from LJU to VJU
