To see which version of DOS you are using the usual method of determination is to type
VER at the DOS prompt.
This will give you an obvious indication unless you are using Windows 95.
To find out a Windows 95 version type right click MY COMPUTER and chose PROPERTIES. The
dialogue box that appears displays this number along with the version of Internet Explorer
4, if it is used.
OSR2.1 can be identified by looking in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS list in CONTROL PANEL.
There would be an entry called USB SUPPLEMENT TO OSR2.

VERSION 4.00.950A - ORIGINAL WINDOWS 95 RELEASE WITH SERVICE PACK 1
VERSION 4.00.950B - WINDOWS 95 OSR2 RELEASE (OEM SERVICE RELEASE 2) INCLUDES FAT 32
VERSION 4.00.950C - WINDOWS 95 OSR2.1 AS ABOVE BUT INCLUDES USB
VERSION 4.10.1998 - WINDOWS 98
The files below may be on your machine already, if not copy from the Windows 95 disc
onto your HD
QFECHECK - Windows 95 update information tool (not in the original Windows 95 release)
HWDIAG - Hardware diagnostics (copy to HD or run from CD)
LOGVIEW - examines log files
