Telephone, Common Battery, Wall, (B.I. Type)  

Similar to the Telephone No. 15, this version was made by British Insulated and Helsby.  It was their Model T489.  Although a catalogue illustration shows it with an unbranded Ericsson transmitter, the Australian model would generally have been fitted with a Solid Back transmitter as shown here.  From possibly as early as 1900.
