Central Battery Subscriber Lines
"BAKELITE" Series
The streamlining of our manufacturing processes has allowed us to produce a
new series of subscriber lines offering numerous improvements and advantages
in every respect compared to previous subscriber lines.
Interchangeability of parts between tabletop and wall-mounted lines.
With the exception of the dial or the dummy dial, all equipment parts, as
well as the switch hook, are mounted on the base plate, which can be used
interchangeably with the cabinets of either tabletop or wall-mounted lines.
Accessibility of all parts, ease of maintenance, and the possibility for
telephone companies to reduce their inventory.
Aesthetic design of the line and handset.
Dial No. 7017A has two off normal contacts, whilst Dial No. 7019A has one
off normal contact. Any of these dials can be fitted to these
telephones.
All these telephones are fitted with the Handset No. 2290A.
Sets for Moderate Climates
Tabletop Sets
No. 2724A
This
is a standard telephone comprising of a Bakelite casing, one-piece
construction including the base and cradle; removable steel base plate on
which all the components are mounted (capacitor, induction coil, polarized
bell, bells, switch hook). Also includes rubber feet and a Bakelite
plunger.
No. 2724B
This
telephone is similar to the No. 2724A, but is equipped with a push button on
the casing which, via a contact spring mechanism, provides the telephone
with earth recall facilities. Used with automatic switches No's 7006,
7011, 7025 and 7035.
The press button is located above the top of the dial.
No. 2724E This telephone is similar to the No. 2724A,
but it can be used as a standard extension or as a shared line extension for
two subscribers (a single line extension for two subscribers) by modifying
the circuit to provide for earth ringing.
Automatic Service These
telephones are equipped with a No. 7019A dial containing the numbered 7002A
disc and the instruction card 7003A.
Manual Service These telephones are equipped with a No. 2047C dummy dial
plate.
Wall-Mounted Telephones
No. 2725A
These
comprise of a Bakelite case, supplied as a single piece with the base and
cradle, removable steel base plate on which all the telephone components are
mounted (capacitor, induction coil, polarized ring, bells, switch hook).
The set has a Bakelite plunger and a case mounted dial.
No. 2725B
This
telephone is similar to telephone No. 2725A, but is equipped with a press
button mounted on the front of the case providing the same features as
telephone No. 2724B.
No. 2725E This telephone is similar to telephone No.
2725E and can be used as a standard telephone or as a shared telephone line
for two subscribers by modifying its circuit.
No. 2725F (1952 catalogue) This telephone is similar to telephone No.
2725A, but is used by train despatchers.
Automatic service These telephones are equipped with a No. 7019A dial
containing the numbered disc No. 7002A and the instruction card No. 7003D.
Manual service These telephones are equipped with a dummy dial plate No.
2047C.
Circuits The circuits of the Type No. 2725 telephone are the same as
those of the Type No. 2724.
These stations are generally used with private automatic switches (Type 7006
- 7011 - 7025 - 7035).
Stations for Tropical Climates
All parts, equipment, and accessories of these stations are specially
treated to withstand the atmospheric conditions of tropical countries (see
summary table). Brass base plate, black finish.

is of similar construction to telephone No. 2724A, but its circuit is
similar to that of telephone No. 2724E.
No. 2824B This telephone is similar to telephone No.
2724B.
No. 2824E (1952 Catagloue) This telephone is similar to telephone No.
2724E.
Wall-mounted telephones
No. 2825A
This telephone of similar construction to telephone No. 2725A, but its
circuit is similar to that of telephone No. 2724E.
No. 2825B This telephone is similar to telephone
No. 2724B.
Telephones for climates of high humidity
All parts, equipment, accessories, and dial are specially treated to
withstand the extreme atmospheric conditions of tropical countries.

No. 2824ATR This telephone is
similar to telephone No. 2724A.
No. 2824BTR This telephone is similar to telephone No.
2724B.
No. 2824ETR (1952 Catalogue) This telephone is similar to telephone No.
2724E.
Wall-Mounted Telephones
No. 2825ATR This telephone is similar to the No. 2825A.
No. 2825BTR This telephone is similar to telephone No. 2725B.
Automatic Service These telephone are equipped with a No. 7019ATR dial.
