Local Battery-Powered Telephones
Wall Mounted sets

Constructed of a black enameled steel backplate, on which the generator (call magneto) and induction coil are mounted. A hinged black enameled steel case contains the switch hook, polarised ringer, and two bells are mounted, positioned externally and above the cover.

The Induction coil with a closed magnetic circuit, has 3 windings; the local effect is eliminated by connecting one of the windings in parallel to the receiver.

Telephones for moderate climates

Depending on the type of magnet in the generator, these sets are classified as:
No. 2740A
Generator with a cobalt steel magnet, for telephone lines with a high resistance of approximately 4400 ohms.

No. 2740B
Generator with chrome steel magnet, for telephone lines with a resistance of approximately 3000 ohms.

All telephones are equipped with a handset and a suitable cord.


Telephones for Tropical Climates

Telephones No. 2840A and 2840B are similar to Stations 2740A and 2740B, respectively, but their equipment and casing are designed to withstand the atmospheric conditions of semi-tropical climates.


Additional Receiver
When using a second receiver No. 2680B, the station will be equipped with a hook No. 2022A to support the receiver No. 2680B.
