Telephone No. 2873

SPEED CALL TELEPHONE

This phone is designed for private networks served by a telephone exchange; it consists of a black enameled metal casing mounted on a wide base. On the front of this base are two rows of eight buttons: 15 of them are used to ensure instant communication with as many selected extensions, without having to operate the dial. These lines are chosen because the owner of such a device has frequent contact with them.

From a Telephone No. 2873B phone, by pressing the appropriate button, one can therefore call and converse with any of the 15 pre-selected people connected to the private network. The 16th button is a "release" button; It is used to disconnect the extension from the speed dial system, allowing it to switch to other lines on the local network, even without hanging up. It will establish communication with these extensions using the standard dialing mechanism.

An additional button located at the rear of the double row mentioned above allows for maintaining communication with the public network during a conversation on a local line, or for transferring a call from the public network to another local extension.

Labels for identifying connected extensions are located opposite each button.
