INFORMATION
Emblem was approved for MF4 working to the PSTN using Series 2 processor software in 1987. Nearly 2,000 of the earlier systems purchased by BT were fitted with Series 1 software.
For correct timed break recall working Series 5 processor software is required.

When MF4 signalling to the PSTN is to be provided on systems with series 1 software, the processor card must be updated to Series 5 software. Systems with series 2, 3 and 4 software that require timed break recall working (to host PBX or BT network) for additional facilities e.g. some Star Services, should also be updated to series 5 software.

KNOWN ISSUES

HANDSFREE MICROPHONES FAULTY (July 1994)

There have been several complaints of repaired Emblem S2616S (Standard) terminal microphones not working.

There is a little known facility that enables Standard terminal users intercom calls to auto answer in handsfree mode, thus switching on the terminals microphone. This microphone will not work on handsfree for outgoing intercom or exchange line calls.
