This telephone has a protector mounted on the lower part of the backboard, and the line terminals are enclosed. It is also fitted with a clip for papers.

When the sub-station telephone and intermediate station telephone are in connection, their conversation cannot be overheard by the Exchange, or by any of the lines connected, and when the sub-station telephone and the Exchange are in connection, the conversation cannot be overheard by the intermediate telephone.
