When the microtelephone of a connected telephone is lifted and it has been ascertained that n o conversation is going on, the switchboard is immediately ready t o set up the desired connection. The switchboard is of simple and sturdy construction and all parts, such as relays, selectors, condensers a n d terminals, are fitted o n a frame of black enamelled sheet iron. The whole installation is fed from a central battery, and this in view of the small current consumption may be made up of d r y cells with a capacity of, say, 150 A h . It is of importance that the operating tension be kept between 8 and 12 V. A battery composed of eight dry cells RK 224 will thus be suitable; the battery should be located near the switchboard. Only the wall telephone DB 30 and the table telephone DB 200 can be used in conjunction with OL 10. Ordinary two conductor lead cable, Type EEB, is suitable for the lines. The telephones will have the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 0. Dimensions: height 290mm, width 172mm, depth 132mm, weight 3.5 kg. Care should be taken that the positive and negative poles of the battery are connected t o the switchboard in accordance with the diagram t o be found in the switchboard cover.
