SIEMENS HICOM 116

PXML No.
APPROVAL No. NS/3343/5/R/605003

The Hicom 116 is the most recent addition to the Hicom 100 range of digital telephone systems.

The system, which provides small businesses with Basic Rate ISDN to the desktop, can also be used to meet the requirements of larger corporate customers who have a number of smaller sites.

The Hicom 116 system has a new concept in user interfacing, displaying sequences of feature options on screen to provide step-by-step instructions to the user. User manuals and operating instructions become a thing of the past as activating features is reduced to two keys - the 'OK' key and the 'more' key. The main switching unit at the heart of the system, utilising world-leading technology, weighs just over one kilogram, is easy to install and connect, and requires only the minimum of programming.

The Hicom 116 is available in three models which handle two, three and four ISDN 2 circuits with up to eight, twelve and sixteen extensions respectively to allow organisations to choose the exact configurations that best match their requirements.

Optiset Memory
System telephones include an on-hook dialling display version and the top of the range Optiset Memory. In addition to an eight-line display, the Optiset Memory has loudspeech and a directory package for the storage of names, addresses and telephone numbers. With the environment in mind, Hicom 116 comprises a number of recyclable and interchangeable components.

Working in conjunction with the ISDN network, Hicom 116 utilises the very latest communications technology. Time saving features include a live keypad for fast dialling and 'prime line' operation which enables the user to begin dialling without having to press '9' or 'line key' for external calls. Voice calling is often used between manager and secretary and 'open listening' can be used in telephone training/monitoring situations.

Incoming calls can be directed to a second telephone, or hunt groups may be used to pass calls on, when extensions are busy or unattended. Call pickup is also available - all these features prevent the loss of calls.

The launch of the Hicom 116 follows major new software upgrades for the Hicom 125 and 130 hybrid telephone systems which now provide access to ISDN 2 and ISDN 30.
