The information on these pages is from Telephone Rentals catalogues, which were all undated.  But they were produced after 1963.

Before 1980 Telephone Rentals just fitted communication and clock equipment on a rental basis, but were allowed to sell and install large PABX's, where the GPO would take on the maintenance.  As the GPO had the only public network licence, the company only installed internal telephone systems.  After 1980, when the telephone market was open to competition, the company then started to sell telephone systems that could be connected to the public networks made available.

You may notice that many of the telephones and systems were supplied from Ericsson (ETL).
