POSTPAYMENT & PREPAYMENT (1932)

Coin-Collecting Boxes

1. Advice Notes
When a coin-collecting box is to be fitted on any exchange circuit the Controller, London Telephone Service, or District Manager, as the case may be, when issuing the covering Advice Note will specify thereon the type of C.C. box to be provided.

2. At unattended Call Offices, a coin-collecting box is always associated with the telephone.  In L.B. areas, the box is of the postpayment type and fees are payable on the demand of the Exchange operator when a call matures.  The prepayment type of coin-collecting box has been standardized for use in all C.B. and Automatic areas.

3. At attended Call Office, the provision or non-provision of a coin-collecting box depends on the requirements specified under the Call Office plan number.  Where a C.C. box is required the conditions specified above in connexion with unattended Call Offices in LB., C.B. and Automatic areas apply.
