BC 461
The telephone set BC 461/1, which has an associated Bellset, is an intermediate station set for one extension. An extension set BC 462 is used. It is a Bakelite table set of model M33 style, comprises of: handset model M50 style with spiral cord, dial with a nickel-plated brass finger disc, indicator, generator with crank, three pushbuttons and textile covered cord connected to wall bracket with bell.

By a simple replacement of the mechanical switching device for the push-button spring rack, each type of apparatus can operate in two different ways, without the need for any switching in the wiring diagram.  Therefore, there are four type designations: BC 451/1, BC 451/2, BC 461/1, and BC 461/2.  Apparatus with a switching device 1. can be recognised by the fact that they have three push-buttons; when the apparatus is to be put on hold, the middle red button must be pressed after each call.  Appliances with a switching device 2. have only two push-buttons (the centre hole is blocked); the centre switching wedge is actuated by the latch, so that the appliance is automatically put on hold when the handset is switched lifted.
