DAT 1003 and DAT 1004 (replaces AB 2536, AB 2555 and DAT 1001)
These devices are intended to be placed in damp premises, mines etc. They are also suitable for outside house assembly. The device is built into a black lacquered cast iron cabinet with door. The cabinet is divided in three separate rooms. The front of these contains the microphone with suspension device and generator crank. The case, which is watertight, contains the other parts of the device, mounted on a removable insert. The two dry batteries are placed to one side in a container, which is covered by a special hatch. The microphone is clamped in a fixed position between two chrome-plated metal supports, the upper sprung and it bottom fixed. It is fitted with a rubber hose cord, which through a screw connection with gasket is connected to a terminal block, which becomes accessible when the upper cover in the device has been opened. The cables are inserted from below to the device through screw connections with gaskets. The connection terminals become accessible once the lower door inside the appliance has been opened. The device has no ringer.

The DAT 1003 has a strong generator which is connected directly to the line wires. It can be used in damp premises as well as in mines, where there is no risk of explosion of combustible gases are present.

A waterproof ringer KLA 6204 is used for this device or the KLA 6304, KLA 6404 or, if many devices are connected in parallel on the same wire KLA 6206 and KLA 6306, KLA 6406 respectively.

DAT 1004 has special low voltage generator and can therefore only be used in short lines or in local facilities. When used in garages, gasworks, etc. then the risk of explosion should be taken into account.

A waterproof ringer KLA 6202 is used for this device or the KLA 6302, KLA 6402 respectively.
