Portable Automatic Telephone
N1831 This instrument is specially designed for telephone linesmen's use, or may be used as a temporary station which can readily be moved from one place to another.
For automatic exchange use it is fitted with a standard dial, but so that it may also be useful on magneto and central battery manual systems, it is equipped with a 3-magnet generator, 500 ohm ringer, induction coil, condenser and small battery.
The apparatus is contained in a polished hardwood case having a compartment to take the telescopic micro-telephone and waterproof cord. The dial and line terminals are mounted on the top and the whole is protected by the leather carrying case which is provided with a shoulder strap.
